Prince Antwi cannot report at the Ethics Committee due to injury- Abdul Salam

President of New Edubiase United, Abdul Salam Yakubu has revealed that Prince Antwi will not be able to report at the Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association today due to injury he sustained in the match against Ebusua Dwarfs.

In the aftermath of New Edubiase United’s defeat to Wa All stars in the Week 24 at Bekwai, midfielder of New Edubiase United, Prince Antwi declared that Wa All-stars had broken a promise they made to them during the first round of the league, that they should play a match of convenience so as they can reciprocate the gesture for them in the second round.

However, after the alleged revelation by Prince Antwi, the Ethics Committee of the Ghana Football Association invited him to assist in investigating the case, but the bankroller of his club, Abdul Salam Yakubu says the player is unfit to appear at the committee.

“The boy got injured in yesterday’s game and I don’t think he can go there today. Yesterday, he sustained a bad injury on his knee which I think has affected his movement.”

“We’ve taken him to a traditional medicine doctor for treatment because as at yesterday he was finding it difficult to walk on the leg. I’ll plead with the Ethics Committee to give us one week, which by then I’m sure he will be okay.

“All that the boy said, we’ve done our own investigations on it, and we’re just waiting for him to recover to present our case but I’ll not make any further comment on it until we meet the Ethics Committee.”

New Edubiase United has been relegated from the Ghana Premier League with a game to spare while Wa All stars were crowned champions for the first time in their history after beating second placed side Aduana stars by 2-1 at the Malik Jabir stadium in Wa on match day 29.
