Wutah has not broken up – Wutah Kobby

A member of the famous Ghanaian high-life group, Wutah, Daniel Morris, who is popularly known in the Ghana music industry as Wutah Kobby, has debunked rumours making rounds in the media the group has gone their separate ways again.
Reports went rife earlier this week that the ‘Bronya’ hitmaker group has split for the second time following a misunderstanding between the duo.
However, in an interview with DJ Advicer on Happy FM’s Ayekoo after drive show, Wutah Kobby vehemently dismissed the report and posited that it is the work of unscrupulous bloggers.
“Oh no, this is not true at all. I have not even heard it but anyway let me use your platform to let our fans know that we are still together, Wutah is still together and we will not break up again.”
“People shouldn’t quash that news. I think it’s the bloggers that are just using it to trend because I don’t know where they got such information from.”
“We have our social media platforms so if they want any information they should communicate with us through that medium. The group has not broken up, the only thing I will tell them is to vote for us so that we can win all in all the four categories we’ve been nominated in the forthcoming VGMA because we deserve it.”
Wutah came into the limelight in 2004 when it contested for the Nescafe Africa Revelation music competition in Accra and came second to Praye. The name Wutah is a Hausa word which means fire.
Their debut album, ‘Anamontuo’ which has songs like ‘Adonko’, ‘Goosie Gander’ and ‘Big Dreams’ earned them eleven nominations including The Most Popular Song of the Year, Album Of the Year and Artiste of the Year in the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards.
In 2009, they separated and started recording their solo projects. Afriyie has released song like ‘I Do,’ ‘Love of My Life,’ ‘Tontonti,’ ‘Everlasting Love’ and ‘Here to Stay.’ Kobby also has songs like ‘Chiochio,’ ‘Pii Por Pii,’ ‘Warning,’ and ‘Father for All.’
