The president of the Ghana Amputee Football League Board (GAFLB)  Mr Daniel Nii Mensah paid a courtesy call on one of the patrons of amputee football in Ghana, Mr Isaac Tetteh, who is popularly known as T.T Brothers on Thursday, May 2, at Prampram, Accra.
The much talked about trophy tour commenced fortnight ago as organizers of the forthcoming Amputee League first presented the silver-piece to the Managing Director of Tema Oil Refinery, Hon Isaac Osei.
The tour took a second turn to Metro TV in Accra, where they met the leading sports anchors such as Phil Johnny Quartey and Michael Oduro, who received the trophy on behalf of the station.
The trophy trained continued on Thursday when it landed in the premises of Ghana’s number one sports station, Happy FM – where the association signed a partnership deal with the Global Media Alliance owned company.
And on Thursday, the league board presented the trophy to the bankroller of Uncle-T FC, Mr Issac Tetteh, who has been a great advocate of the organization and he lavished praises on the board for their effort to make the sport a worthwhile.
“You have done what Napoleon could not do.” Mr Tetteh stated.
“I’m happy with the progress of the sport and I believe it’s going to get even bigger and better as time goes on. We are all here to support the league and with the belief I have in the administration, the sport shall thrive.”
The league will see eight teams from the various regions competing for the coveted trophy.
The Greater Accra, Ashanti Region, Eastern Region and Central Region were the selected regions for the league.
Winners of the competition will take home a trophy and a cash of $20,000 while 2nd and 3rd place teams will pocket $15,000 and $10000 respectively.
The league will kick-start on Saturday, May 5 at the Wembley Arena Kotobabi, Accra.
