Ace football administrator J.Y Appiah rescinds Nyantakyi decision; ready to support him for FA 2019 election

Ace football administrator J,Y Appiah has declared that he will support Kwesi Nyantakyi to seek for re-election if he can convince him with the new plan he’ll coming on board with in 2019.

Mr Appiah, who is an influential king-maker within the football fraternity had earlier urged and lauded the decision of Kwesi Nyantakyi not to seek re-election.
Even though Kwesi Nyantakyi has not publicly rescinded his decision not to seek re-election, recent calls from the executive committee of the Ghana FA make it like that he will seek re-election.
With uncertainty surrounding his decision to seek re-election or not, J.Y. Appiah believes that the power to decide rests on the shoulder of Kwesi Nyantakyi.
He adds that if Nyantakyi decides to seek re-election backed by significant reasons, he (J.Y. Appiah) will support him.
“What is surprising about this? He did his interview and said it’s likely he may not seek re-election. If after pondering over his comment he thinks he must seek re-election, why should I be surprised?
“Kwesi is my son and so if he decides to seek re-election explaining to me why he is taking that decision, why shouldn’t I support him if his reasons are sensible? If the reasons are not significant enough, I will counsel him,” he told Happy FM‘s Anopa Bosuo Sports.
Nyantakyi has been the Ghana FA President since 2006 and his tenure has seen several reforms in Ghana football compelling many to insist he seeks re-election in 2019 to consolidate the reforms before he finally exits as GFA President.
