GPL Week 12 Wrap up: Kotoko bounce back as Medeama, Inter Allies keep up impressive home form

Asante Kotoko returned to winning ways on matchday 12 of the Ghana Premier League with a home win over Bechem United.
Emmanuel Gyamfi’s goal ensured a 1-0 victory at the Cape Coast Sports Stadium, effectively putting behind successive losses to arch-rivals Hearts of Oak and newly-promoted Karela United. The result has not only relieved coach Samuel Paa Kwasi Fabin off some pressure but also pushed the outfit to eighth on the table.
Elsewhere at the Nana Ameyaw Park, Abdul Fatawu Safiu and Alex Asamoah scored to ensure a 2-0 home triumph for new boys Eleven Wonders over Ebusua Dwarfs. The newly-promoted have interestingly moved to 11th on the table, three spots above The Crabs.
At the T&A Park in Tarkwa, second-placed Medeama proved too strong for third-positioned Dreams FC following a 2-0 victory. Kwesi Donsu and Eric Kwakwa scored the goals.
Wafa and 2015-16 champions Wa All Stars, however, shared the spoils at Sogakope. Umar Bashiru scored for the Academy Boys while David Abagna netted from the spot.
Victorien Adebayor registered his third goal in two matches as Inter Allies pipped Berekum Chelsea 1-0 at Tema. The Eleven-Is-To-one, thus, sit sixth on the log whereas the Blues occupy the 12th position.
Liberty Professionals, meanwhile, recorded their third win of the season with a 1-0 triumph at the expense of debutants Karela United. The Scientific Soccer Lads hold the 13th spot, eight places adrift of the new boys.
In the only game on Saturday, leaders Ashanti Gold failed to break down a stubborn Elmina Sharks side, who held their own at home to force a goalless draw at the Nduom Sports Stadium.
The match between Aduana Stars and Hearts of Oak has been postponed due to the latter’s Caf Confederation Cup clash with Asec Mimosas of Cote d’Ivoire on Sunday.
