Spokesperson for Freddie Blay, Richard Nyamah has said in an interview that the 275 buses for the 275 constituencies of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the country are to be run commercially by bus operators in the country.
Speaking on Happy FM’s Epa Hoa Daben Show, Mr Nyamah, who is the Public Relations Officer of acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay said,”The buses will be given to commercial bus operators, a process we are currently negotiating on.”
He added that the various constituencies will open bank accounts and pay monthly installments.
“Portion of the proceeds are to be lodged into the constituency account for use by the constituencies for party activities. At the end of full payments, the buses become the property of the constituency and help finance the party at the constituency level.”
Mr Nyamah continued by saying that “this process started not today. It’s Freddie Blay’s initiative but a party project.”
The acting National Chairman of the NPP Freddie Blay is to spend a whopping $11, 412, 500 – an equivalent of Gh¢52, 846,171.65 – to secure 275 buses for the party.
