SHOCKER: My silence is to spare NPP, Gov't from embarrassment – Yanked GEPA CEO declares

The sacked Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Export Promotion Council (GEPA) Gifty Klenam who has not spoken since her dismissal has stated that her silence was to avoid smearing negative consequence on the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
According to the former Member of Parliament for Upper West Akim constituency, speaking about circumstances surrounding her dismissal would have been embarrassing to the government, a situation she wouldn’t want to put the president through.
Speaking to Joy News at her home on Saturday, She said; “It looks like I’m having certain level of challenges but I’ll not talk about it now, there are lots that I might not be able to point out today because the President appointed me and I give him the highest respect, I give the party the highest respect and it is a very young government. We cannot do anything that will tarnish the image of the government, so for me if you care, the reason why when this publication was out there I haven’t spoken is because I see the government as a very young government, it is very fragile and we cannot destroy it. It has taken us so much time, strength to get where we are and we must uphold it with dignity.”
She told the reporter although there are a lot of things she’d have loved to say about her struggles at the GEPA, the timing is not right.
“It has taken us so much time and strength to get to where we are and we must uphold it with dignity and that is why I haven’t spoken.
“I am having certain challenges but I will not talk about it now. There is a lot I might not be able to point out today because the president appointed me and I respect him,” she added.
Madam Klenam further indicated that she has not received any formal communication from the Presidency asking her to vacate her post.
Adding that none of the accusations leveled against her – a ¢65,000 salary and $1,500 monthly accommodation allowance – are true.
A week after a new successor was anointed to replace her, Gifty Klenam insists she’s still at post, refusing to give way for Ms Afua Asabea Asare to take over.
