Former Ghana forward, Junior Agogo, looks set to receive the rest of his money with Zamalek after a court lifted the ban placed on the Egyptian side’s bank account.
The Court of Urgent Matters on Sunday, ruled that the ban on Zamalek’s money be taken off. Which means the Cairo club can now make good of its promise to the ailing footballer.
The Cairo-based outfit were due to pay $500,000 to the former striker but the ban on the club’s bank account prevented the payment.
Zamalek’s president, Mortada Mansour, had filed a lawsuit to lift the custody, pending the rest of the litigation.
Zamalek’s bank accounts have been frozen due to debt from former club president Mamdouh Abbas’ tenure.
Zamalek paid LE 40 million to the bank ($2.27 million) out of the LE 160 million debt; the remaining balance will be divided into instalments.
Zamalek’s financial committee also reached an agreement with the Social Insurance Authority to pay LE 10 million out of the LE 28 million debt.
