WAEC to release 2025 BECE private candidate results today The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that results for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) for private candidates will be released by the end of today, Friday, September 5. Speaking at a media briefing, WAEC’s Public Relations Officer, John Kapi, confirmed the release timeline and shared key statistics. “A total of 1,661 private candidates, 858 males and 803 females, registered for this year’s BECE. This marks a 19.49% increase compared to last year,” he stated. According to John Kapi, the provisional results for school candidates were released earlier on August 23, with 603,328 students participating from 20,395 schools. WAEC noted a 5.99% rise in school candidate numbers. Kapi also addressed examination integrity, saying, “Candidates who infringed on the rules governing the conduct of the examination were appropriately sanctioned following investigations and the advice of the Council’s relevant committee.”

Revelations of a former drug addict from Ashaiman

A former drug addict whose name has been withheld makes shocking revelations about how saturated Ashaiman is with drugs and how the police can do little or nothing about the situation.

According to him, the toughest ghetto for drug dealers can be found right behind the Ashaiman police station but the police do not dare arrest anyone.

“The toughest place is behind the police station, people smoke right behind the police station, but they can’t enter there,” he revealed.

“The ‘bases’ where weed is sold are more than fifty, some even sell in their rooms. They are also sold in drinking spots, but the well-known place in Ashaiman is called ‘18’. ‘18’ is also known for theft and the culprits usually go free because they will either escape by the time you bring the police or they argue their word against yours,” he added.

Tablets like the very famous ‘tramadol’ is not left out as they are also sold in the dark in different forms.

“In some drinking spots, the weed is boiled with water and then mixed with Don Simon. Tramol is then diluted in this mixture and sold as ‘shocker’,” he said.

This young man also spoke about how some people can deliberately cause harm to others through weed.

“When someone wraps weed for you, you need to unwrap it to check the content. If someone wants to harm you, he can mix the weed with salt or the seed of pepper and once you light it and smoke, you can go mad instantly,” he noted.

“Market women in Ashaiman also sell weed. Someone could be selling tomatoes or beef and also be selling weed,” he disclosed all these at the studios of Happy FM with Pastor Nyansa Boakwa on the ‘NsemPii’ show.

Hope this will awaken the police to exhibit their superiority and take action against these addicts and possibly get some help for them.

Listen to the audio and learn one or two things to be aware of when in Ashaiman or any other place for that matter.

Do not fall victim. Know the routes to use at what time and what not to drink.
