Barbara Asher Ayisi, the deputy Minister of Education in charge of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) and Member of Parliament of the Cape Coast North Constituency has disclosed how a Ghanaian female musician was rude to her.

On Happy FM‘s ‘Ayekoo’ after drive show, listeners texted in with numerous compliments for the Honorable minister, she was grateful for the love shown her but stated that inner beauty is more important to her than the outward beauty.

“God bless them for the compliments but I dwell more on the beauty inside, I think that’s what makes me attractive not the beauty outside. Well someone may look at that but I dwell more on the beauty inside and how to talk to the elderly, even in Parliament,” she disclosed to DJ Advicer.

“I’m an extrovert but I believe that we would not experience such hardship today if we treated the elderly the same way they were treated in the olden days,’ she added.

On this note of respecting the elderly, Madam Barbara recounted an instance where she was addressed in a way she found rude by a popular female musician who had been her student before.

“For some reasons I won’t mention the name of this artiste. Can you imagine that this artiste sat right in front of me in my literature class but she saw me and pompously waved at me? That was rude. They are copying blindly and surprisingly on that day I was called on to present her an award.  This is a small world,” she bemoaned.

“I suggest that these young female artistes be groomed by women, it’s good the managers manage them, but they should find women who will serve as mentors for them. I don’t know what their trying to prove with their lifestyle,’ she advised.
