Life is full of uncertainties and it’s difficult to understand fully the twist and turns in life. Today, you’re a hero and within a blink, no one recognises your presence as in the current state of Ghanaian rapper Bak Tye a.k.a Baka Tee.

The rapper who’s 38 years-old now looks like someone in his late 60s in an interview on Starr FM with host, Giovanni Caleb,  said that he has been through a lot in life and feels bad if people ask him of his current state. According to him, the music industry and life have been unfair to him over the years, especially after he lost his mother.

Speaking on the Starr Drive Thursday, Bak Tye whose “Yenpie” hit track shook  Ghana in 2004 also blamed bad management for his predicament.

“Sometimes when you become a star it gets into your head and if you don’t take care, they will come after you so you need to be careful. Because everyone is looking at you. And you need management and bad management too counts. The industry is hard,” he said.

When asked about how he feels when people compare his old days to his current state when they listen to his songs, Bak Tye said: “Sometimes when I hear people listening to my music I feel bad and asking why things are like this now, I feel like crying. The industry is not helping”.

Bak Tye has several hit songs with hiplife artistes like Kwaw Kese, Pop Skinny, Kofi Nti, and Castro and Agingo on his ‘Yen Pie’ album in 2004.
