The event is expected to focus on charity and to encourage the Ghanaian industry to instill the habit of consuming healthy pastries.

According to the Managing Director of DailyFood, Geoffrey Fadoul, National Pastry Day is an event many Ghanaians do not know about but DailyFood, Boss Baker and FoodForAll are delighted to announce that the event will be celebrated annually in Ghana.

He added that, the celebration of National Pastry Day is not about DailyFood, Boss Baker but it is about celebrating with the people who do not have the means to celebrate.

He however added that, next year, he will make sure his outfit brings more companies on board to enable them mark the day in a grand style by giving more to the needy.

On his part, Founder of FoodForAll, Chef Elijah Amoo Addo, one out of four children in Ghana actually go to bed without food.
He bemoaned that, about 45% of food goes to waste along the food supply chain.

He added, “We are grateful to DailyFood and Boss Baker for deciding to join the FoodForAll foundation to feed the needy. They would not just be feeding the vulnerable but their staff will on regularly basis embark on such initiatives to feed the needy on the streets of Accra and other parts of the country.”

Director of Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) at the Department of Social Welfare, Stephen Dombo, highly praised Boss Baker, FoodForAll for the brilliant initiative they have taken to support the vulnerable on the streets.
