CAF Confed Cup: Deputy Asante Kotoko coach Akakpo Patron lavishes praises on players after Coton Sport de Garoua victory

Asante Kotoko

Former Bechem United striker Abednego Tetteh believes Al Hilal of Sudan are in better shape than Asante Kotoko after both teams were pitched in Group C of the 2018/19 CAF Confederation Cup.

Zesco United and Nkana from Zambia are the other group opponents.

Abednego Tetteh who had a short stint at the Sudanese club has warned that his former club is better than Kotoko and it will take a great performance for Kotoko to overcome them.

“Having played for Al Hilal, I can say they are better than Asante Kotoko in terms of recent performances in Africa. Though I want Kotoko to triumph over them it is not going to be easy,” he told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy FM‘s Wamputu Sports.

“They have a bigger stadium than Baba Yara and rely on the ferocity and numbers of their fans”

Abednego Tetteh also called on Kotoko to be wary of the Brazilian attacker in the Al Hilal team.

“The defenders of Kotoko should be careful with their Brazilian striker Geovane Maranhao. He is very dangerous and clever too. He knows how to convince referees to get penalties,” he added.

Kotoko will open their group C game against Al Hilal in Sudan on the February 3rd 2019.
