Government of Ghana has decided to extend the validity period of passports issued to applicants from five years to ten years, taking effect from the 31st March 2019.
In a memo signed by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Mohammed Habibu Tijani, the ministry informed various Ghanaian missions abroad of the decision by government to extend the validity period of passport issued to qualified applicants.

Ghanaian passport was valid for TEN (10) years until it was changed to FIVE (5) YEARS validity as it underwent changes to conform to the recommended standard set by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO).
The price for the passport however remains the same
