Information reaching happyghana.com indicates that the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ghana Police service has invited the Chairman of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Samuel Ofosu Ampofo to assist in investigation over an audio making rounds on various media platforms of inciting its members for violence.
The letter inviting Mr Ampofo said he should report at the CID headquarters on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 10am.
Mr Ofosu Ampofo has come under fire over comments he allegedly made in the secret recording.
In the audio, Mr. Ofosu Ampofo is heard admitting among other things that NDC had ballot box protection unit during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
The audio tape also suggests that abductions and kidnappings could be used to silence political opponents.
