Deputy coach of Asante Kotoko, Akakpo Patron, has said that the team will not change its style of play despite injuries to three of its key players.

In-form winger Emmanuel Gyamfi joined defender Richard Senanu and star man Maxwell Baakoh on the list of injured players after limping off in Sunday’s 3-0 victory over Nkana FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in the ongoing Confederation Cup campaign.

This was immediately after the winger scored the Porcupine Warriors’ second goal of the game.

In an interview with Ohene Bampoe-Brenya on Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports‘, coach Patron asserted that, although losing some of their key players to injury was a worry to them, that will not affect their approach to games.

“Richard Senanu and Gyamfi have given their all to the team but their absence won’t really change our strategy going into the Al Hilal game. We will know the fitness level of Gyamfi today,” he said.

Patron was also full of praise for Martin Antwi who replaced injured tricky wideman Baakoh in the starting lineup against Nkana FC.

“Martin Antwi did well yesterday because he started with us but he was out for sometime. Scoring will boost up his confidence level to the next game.”

Kotoko’s next game will be against Al-Hilal of Sudan – a game coach Patron has projected to be a stern test.

“Our next game won’t be an easy one because we have played them before but we must win at all cost. We have to get a very convincing win to top the group.”
