Most residents in Accra continue to face challenges whenever it rains. Mostly, flooding becomes a regular thing to the people of Accra during the rains as a result of limited and choked drains and houses being built on water ways among other human activities.

Many parts of Accra have been flooded after heavy rainfall on Wednesday May 29 . The downpour caused some drains to overflow their channels. Waste materials, particularly plastic bottles swam effortlessly in the Odaw River near the former Orca Deco depot through Agbogbloshie.

The rain started at about 1:35pm and lasted for about three hours.

Vehicles and passengers had to struggle their way out of the flood waters in various parts of the city especially around the circle interchange.

Some areas affected by the floods included Okponglo, Dzorwulu, Kaneshie and Circle to mention a few.
