Controversial Kojo Yankah calls on Normalisation Committee to render account for Namibia friendly

Former Ghana Football Association (GFA) Executive Committee member, Kojo Yankah, has said that there were factions in the Black Stars’ camp at this year’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) being played in Egypt.

According to him, all the videos that circulated on social media where the Black Stars players were seen chanting and dancing to ‘Jama’ songs were all public stunts.

Speaking on Happy FM’s ‘Anopa Bosuo Sports’ with Ohene Brenya Bampoe, the former Western Regional FA chairman said,” There was no unity in the team; we know the players very well and we are the same people who can talk to them very well. They will laugh, they will do everything together, and they will dance in public for everyone to see that they are together. Those managing the football now don’t know them better than us; we know the players better than them.”

His revelations comes on the back of Tunisia brushing Ghana aside to reach the last eight of the ongoing AFCON in a painful way.

“That’s why it’s always advisable for the management to have football people around them. I’m telling you; there was no unity in the Black Stars camp. There was division among the team and the management team was also bad; they did not handle the players very well. If the management had handled the players very well, they would have been a serious change; because they will know how to talk to them, who to speak to at the appropriate time. The football people would have done a great work,” Kojo Yankay opined.

Tunisia advanced to the 2019 AFCON quarter-final as they defeated Ghana on penalties after a 1-1 draw after fulltime.
