The Senior National Women’s team, the Black Queens today beat their Togolese neighbors 4:1 in a friendly match at the El Wak sports stadium in preparation for their third 2020 Olympics games qualifiers against Kenya on 30th September.

The female side met the Togolese ladies after eliminating Gabon in the second stage.

Ladystrikers defender, Gladys Amfobea gave the home side the first goal in the 29th minutes with a powerful shot which sent the Togolese goalkeeper, Amouklou Ame in the wrong direction of the post.

Youngster, Milot Pokua was brought down by a Togolese defender and the Queens were awarded a penalty in the 37th minutes which Glady Amfobea successful executed to make 2:0 for the first half of the encounter.

Both teams created some decent chances in the remaining minutes of the first half before going into recess.

Hasaacas Ladies playmaker, Evelyn Badu converted a well taken free kick by Justice Tweneboaj in the 52nd minutes the register her name on the score sheet before Adinda Akpo of Togo gave her side a consolation goal in this 87th minutes. But her celebration was cut short by Evelyn Badu who got her second goal of the day and made it 4:1 for the Queens.

Coach Mercy Tagoe-Quarcoo and Queens will face the Harambee Starlets of Kenya in the next stage of Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifiers. The first-leg fixture is slated for September 30 at the Accra Sports Stadium.
