A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Gabby Otchere-Darko, has wished Prof. Ransford Gyampo well on his journey to defend his reputation after the damming BBC’s ‘Sex for Grades’ documentary was aired.

In a tweet, Mr. Otchere-Darko wrote: “I wish Prof Gyampo well in defending his reputation and will defend his right to do so but he must not link this issue with BBC on this ‘Sex for Grades’ allegations to any ludicrous attempts to zip his lips from criticizing the government.”

Prof Gyampo has claimed that his implication in the video is a deliberate attempt by some people, presumably politicians, to silence him and bring him down for his active criticism of the government.

Professor Gyampo, who is also the Head of European Studies at the University of Ghana, according to the BBC report allegedly requested one of the BBC reporters who posed as a student seeking academic favours to marry him.
