The Chairman of the Anti-Sexual Committee at the University of Ghana, Dr.Margaret Amoahene has made a call on all students of the University of Ghana both past and present who have been victims of some form of sexual abuse to come forward and aid the committee with its investigations into the issue of sexual abuse.

She was speaking in an interview with Happy FM’s Nana Afrifa Mensah on the “Epa Hoa Daben” show.

According to her, she has not received any complaint of sexual abuse against the two university lecturers implicated in the BBC’s “Sex for Grades” scandal. However, she is appealing to students who have been victims of sexual abuse by these lecturers and others of the school to come forth and aid in investigations.

“We have begun investigations and we will let people know the outcome. I have not heard any allegations from students against these two lecturers but I plead with all who have been victims of sexual abuse to help us with our investigations”, she said.

She added that the two lecturers implicated in the video will be given a fair hearing to defend themselves before sanctions are imposed on them.

In a viral video by BBC Africa, two lecturers from the University of Ghana, Professor Ransford Gyampo and Dr. Paul Kwame Butakor were allegedly caught on camera making sexual advances to BBC journalists who posed as students seeking academic favours.
