President cuts sod for construction of first ever creative arts school

The president of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has cut sod for the construction of the first ever Creative Arts school which is to be located at Kwadaso in the Ashanti region.

According to the president the cutting of the sod for the construction of the very first creative arts school “reaffirms the Government’s commitment to the growth of the creative arts industry”.

The creative arts school is set to equip students for the arts through powerful learning experiences as well as developing students’ understanding and appreciation for the artistic achievements of people from different times, places and cultures.

Furthermore, the school will provide an enabling environment that supports the implementation of a rich and rigourous arts curriculum and encourage a culture of artistic thinking, learning, creative production and achievement of excellence.

The President was very confident that the creative arts school will equip students with excellent creative thinking abilities and academics to help them fulfill their visions of the future.

“I have every confidence that this school will serve as an important beacon for many young and talented people, seeking a fulfilling career in the creative arts,” he said.
