Happy FM’s Ayishatu Zakaria Ali bags two nominations at AIPS Awards

Happy FM’s adept Sports Journalist, Ayishatu Zakaria Ali has bagged two nominations in the categories of Writing Best Column and Young Reporter Writing at the upcoming International Sports Press Association (AIPS) awards to be held in February 2020.

The AIPS Sports Media Award offers recognition to the very best sports storytellers across all media platforms from photography to video, prints to digital as well as sports blogs and podcasts.

As one of Ghana’s professional sports journalist, Ayishatu Zakaria Ali has continued to provide quality sports content and has shown excellence in the sports arena even in the youthful era of her career in sports journalism. She has on countless occasions been honoured for her contribution to the promotion and development of women’s football in the country.

Speaking on her nominations, Ayishatu expressed her glee when she stated: ”I am very elated to be nominated by such an internationally recognized body as AIPS. This even motivates me to put in more in the sports industry. I will also entreat all my fans to keep supporting me because a win for me is a win for us all”.

Programmes Manager for Happy FM, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah expressed his admiration for Ayishatu’s feat and adjured her to keep up the good work.

“First of all, I would like to congratulate Ayishatu Zakaria Ali on her nominations. This proves that her hard work in sports journalism does not go unnoticed. I however urge her to keep on doing the great work she does and even better”, he said.

The AIPS Sports Media Awards celebrates sports media excellence and represents a new, inspiring horizon for sports journalists across the globe. The first edition of the Awards ceremony was held in Lausanne in January, 2019. The second edition will be held in February, 2020.
