Songne Yacouba demands of $150,000 is ‘madness’- Maxwell

Former General Secretary of Accra Hearts of Oak Supporters group, Maxwell Asabre says Asante Kotoko should sack star striker Songne Yacouba from the club.

According to him, the Burkinabe International is a distraction to the team and he does not merit the amount been quoted.

Yacouba is currently demanding $150,000 from the Porcupine Warriors to renew his contract which has been rejected by the club.

Asante Kotoko, Executive Chairman Dr Kwame Kyei disclosed to the fans that the club will not be able to meet the asking price of the player and he will be allowed to leave when his contract expires.

“Asante Kotoko should sack Songne Yacouba from the team. Hearts of Oak will not tolerate this indiscipline. There have been better players to play the club than him. He needs to be sacked to bring discipline to the team, he said on Happy Sports show”.

“Even Felix Annan was looking at Songne Yacouba contract to also negotiate his. If Asante Kotoko continues to condone his behavior it will bring instability into the team. For him to demand $150,000 renew from the club is madness”.

“That money can be used to purchase better strikers. Even Hearts of Oak we will not give him $2,000”, he concluded.
