Following the death of Kobe Bryant, one of the greatest basketball players in the game’s history, over two million people have signed a petition to get NBA to make him the new face of the NBA logo.

The silhouette on the National Basketball Association(NBA), since 1969, has been former Lakers player Jerry West but fans after the death of the Black Mamba, have shown great response in signing a petition which was put up on Change.org to immortalize Kobe Bryant by putting up a silhouette of his picture on the NBA logo.

The petition, read, ‘’With the untimely and unexpected passing of the great Kobe Bryant, please sign this petition in an attempt to immortalize him forever as the new NBA logo’’.

The petition currently has 2.7million signatures and counting, and is looking to reach more fans and hopefully, get the NBA to immortalize the Lakers star.

However, there is another petition for his daughter, Gianna who died alongside him, asking that her jersey be put alongside her father’s two retired jerseys in the raptors.

Kobe Bean Bryant was a 41year old American professional basketball player, who played for the Lakers team for 20seasons and retired in 2016. Bryant died in a helicopter crash on Sunday, 26th January, in Calabasas California along with his daughter,Gianna and seven other passengers.

May their souls rest in perfect peace.
