65year old Maame Abena Konsua, who spent 32years in prison for the alleged poisoning of her then husband’s son, has finally been reunited with her family, with help from Happy FM’s Nsem Pii team.

Abena Konsua, after narrating her sad story on the Nsem Pii religious show aired on Happy FM with host, Rev. Nyansa Boakwa, comments coming in from cherished listeners depicted how much they sympathized with her, thus, the team gave listeners the opportunity to donate funds to help the woman successfully begin the new chapter of her life.

Thanks to Happy 98.9FM’s wide reach, a total amount of GHC2350 was generated, from which about half of the money was used in purchasing items for her to start up her soap-making business- a profession she learnt during her days in prison.

The Nsem Pii team, together with Maame Konsua, left Accra for Kumasi as early as 1AM to make her reconciliation with her family a success.

The ex-convict’s 85year old mother, who had told her daughter that she would not die till she saw her out of prison, was overwhelmed with joy seeing Maame Konsua and knowing that she would now have the chance to leave the face of this earth peacefully because her daughter was free.

‘’When I was in that situation, I looked all around and thought I had no help but God, through my newly found sister, Rev. Dorcas Grace Animwaa, helped for the authorities to remember me and I am now free’’

She furthered, ‘’I also want to thank Pastor Nyansa Boakwa who by the grace of God, listened to my story and solicited for funds to support me. He then decided that if my mother is still alive, it would only be right that he comes to hand me over to her and that is where we are today’’.

Maame Abena Konsua, after 32years in prison and now being reunited with her family, thanked God, Rev. Grace, Pastor Nyansa Boakwa and the whole Nsem Pii team, and all of Happy FM’s esteemed listeners who contributed to putting a smile on her face again.

The woman’s daughter, who was the only one who paid her visits while she was in prison, is also currently married to a loving man, with whom she has bore children.
