President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has reassigned Bryan Acheampong as Minister of State at the Ministry of National Security to Minister of State at the Ministry of Interior.

Security Expert Adam Bonaa in speaking to the recent reassignment hinted that the reassignment came possibly because of a rift between the Minister of National Security, Kan Dapaah and Bryan Acheampong.

In an interview with Happy FM’s Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, he disclosed: “We need to ask a lot of questions because there are deep seated cracks in the national security where Kan Dapaah feels that he was set up by Bryan Acheampong which I think the allegation is probably unfounded. These were allegations and I know from my sources that this should be a reason why there is such a reshuffle”.

The security expert is not alone to hint on this reason as other news sources have suggested that this could be a reason for the reassignment of the Minister.

News circulating implies that the recent viral video of the Minister of National Security in pyjamas having a conversation with his ‘girlfriend’ was allegedly set up by Bryan Acheampong.

Other news, however, have suggested that the move was made as a result of the advice by the Emile Short Commission on the Ayawaso West Wuogon Violence where it was recommended that the president restructures the roles at the National Security to ensure clarity of roles and responsibilities.
