Coronavirus: Ghanaian coach in Egypt opens up on impact of the virus advises Ghanaians to stay safe

Dauda Kwaku Jaara, a Ghanaian coach based in Egypt has opened up on the current situation facing the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.

All football activities in Egypt has been suspended for two weeks due to the outbreak.

Egypt has recorded 402 cases with 20 people confirmed dead.

The situation has seen Egypt under lockdown and the city under curfew.

Speaking in an interview with Odi-Asempa Kwame Oware on Wamputu Sports on Happy FM, Coach Dauda said, “ For now the league has been suspended for two weeks which comes to an end this Friday.

“The footballers go out to train on their own and nobody trains in a group”.

There is a curfew so everyone is supposed to be at home by 7pm. We don’t even go to the mosque to pray anymore. We have been called to pray at home. It’s only the Pharmacy, Bakery that is allowed to operate at this time.

He advised Ghanaians to adhere to the directives of the President and also follow the health instructions given.

“I will advise all Ghanaians not to take this virus lightly and follow the protocols given out.

“The Egyptian government have been strict with their policies and the Egyptian people are abiding by it. So Ghanaians should also follow the directives of the President”.
