Ghana’s number one radio station, Happy 98.9FM celebrated mothers on Mothers’ Day with amazing giveaway prizes.

Listeners were requested to compose a short poem using their mother’s name and send it to the station where the best entries won amazing gifts for their mothers.

Out of the over hundred entries received, four individuals, namely, Isaac Nyarko, Frederick Amissah, Akurigo Hack and Nii Boi Laryea, topped the list with their impressive poems and received gifts for their mothers. The youngest of the competitors was eight year old, Nii Boi Laryea whose thoughtful poem with his mother’s name, ‘Wendy’ won him great prizes from Happy FM and Onga.

Programs Manager for Happy FM, Mr. Emmanuel Akrumah appreciated all the listeners who participated in the poem competition to win gifts for their mothers and the sponsors who supported this initiative.

“I am very impressed with the level of engagement in the Mothers’ Day initiative by Happy FM. I wish to express my appreciation to all who participated and to our sponsor, Onga. Mothers ought to be celebrated because they are special people who give meaning to our lives”.

He noted that the entries for the initiative were all creative pieces which made it very difficult to select the top four entries.

“All the poems were creatively crafted and it was difficult to select the best out of the rest. I thus commend everyone who participated in this initiative. In fact, all of them are winners”, he added.

He encouraged listeners to anticipate more editions of the Happy FM giveaways to mothers on Mothers’ Day.
