The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Parliamentary Candidate for the Klottey Korley constituency, Prince Appiah Debrah has revealed that he has the full backing of members of the constituency in the upcoming 2020 parliamentary elections.

According to him, he has the backing and blessings from the constituents to unseat the incumbent Member of Parliament, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings.

In an interview on a sister television station monitored by Happyghana.com, Appiah Debrah said, “The people of Klottey Korley know me very well and I can say very confidently that the spirit of Osu is behind me. We are winning the seat massively.”

He furthered that the NPP closing up the election margins in 2016 coupled with President Akufo-Addo winning the election with over 5,000 votes in the constituency that same year is an indication that victory is assured him come 2020. “In 2016 we lost by 900 votes and President Nana Addo won by 5000 votes. By this margin, we actually gave away the seat in 2016.”

The Lawyer who is all poised to win the Klottey Korley seat on the ticket of the NPP revealed that the party has also put structures in place to prevent incidents that cost them the constituency in 2016 when all signs and statistics pointed to them winning the seat.

He stated, “If sanity had prevailed a little bit we would have gone through it and so we are not going to repeat those same mistakes. We thank God that the party is now united behind Price Appiah-Debrah and we are going to take the seat.”

Appiah Debrah asserted that the party was not just going to “win the elections at Klottey Korley,” but they were going to fight for the soul of the party in the constituency.
