The world will emerge from Covid-19 -Founder, Ashesi University

Engineer, Educator, and Founder of Ashesi University, Patrick Awuah Jnr, has strongly opined that the whole world will emerge from Covid-19, thus, it is not a question of ‘if’ but that of when.

He voiced these words of encouragement during a virtual zoom interview with Yfm’s Rev. Erskine on the fourth edition of the Y-Leaderboard Series segment on the Myd-Morning Show.

Patrick Awuah stated that the transition is already starting around the world and when we finally have a vaccine, things will go back to the way it used to be.

He, however, commented that “Some things have occurred during this crisis that will accelerate certain behaviours within the industry. The first and most obvious one is that a lot of businesses have now been forced to work remotely”.

According to the businessman, companies will now realize that it will be possible to have a fraction of their workforce continue to work remotely on a permanent basis either fully or partially.

“Maybe businesses are going to have a conversation about who we really need to be at the office and who needs to work from home. They will have conversations about whether it is cheaper to rent an office building or cheaper to buy data bundle for an employee to work from home in terms of efficiency”, he added.

Per his view, there will definitely be some companies who will restructure their production so that they’re not dependent centrally on one place and companies will begin to have a more global workforce as they realize that they may not necessarily need to have an office space.
