Ghanaian footballer Randy Yuan Muller who slept in an Indian airport for over two months during the country’s coronavirus lockdown has finally been rescued.

For 74 days, the Mumbai airport in India was the home for the 23-year-old.

Muller travelled from Ghana to India on a six-month visa to play for ORPC Sports Club in Kerala, South India.

He was booked on a flight back home for 30 March 2020 but came to Mumbai a few days earlier only to get stuck in the lockdown.

With no accommodation or a place to stay, he made the airport his home.

The airport officials helped him with food and money.

During these 74 days, Muller kept to a routine, regularly spoke to his family back home and tried to keep his morale high.

When his story and plight made it to Twitter, Yuva Sena functionary Rahul Kanal reached out to him and has helped him move into a hotel in Bandra.
