Hearts of Oak management in talks with players over salary pay cut- NCC Chairman

Hearts of Oak National Chapters Committee chairman, Elvis Herman Hesse says the club was unable to generate enough funds from the “Phobia 4 Life Project” because of its decision not to involve the supporter’s leadership.

The “Phobia 4 Life Project” was aimed at mobilizing fans of the club to one common platform, and also mobilize funds to enhance the finances of the club.

Fans were supposed to pay a one-time registration fee of GHS 2.

Hearts of Oak announced that it had accrued GHc 6,500 from the Phobia4life project with 13,700 fans contributing to the project. This is below the club’s fan base, projected to be over 1 million.

According to Herman Hesse, the project was undertaken solely by management without any support from the supporter’s leadership.

“The NCC was not consulted in this project and I can say that is why it resulted to the low patronage. We even tried to reach out to the Board to be considered for the project but there was no response”, he told Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy Sports on Happy 98.9 FM.

He also explained that the club was not able to generate a lot of money because most of the revenue came through virtual platforms instead of the chapters.

“We could have done a proper mobilization with the Chapters but most of the people who contributed to the project did so on the virtual platform that is on WhatsApp”.

“The NCC could have used its platform to mobilize people across the nation because the fan base is more than a million.

He added that management should reach out to the supporters wing for any project if they want to succeed.
