Former Hearts of Oak defender, Benjamin Agyare, says the club was unwilling to extend his contract after its expiration despite his willingness to stay.

Benjamin Agyare together with four players, Joseph Esso, Christopher Bonny, Bernard Arthur and Abubakar Troare were released by the club on Friday after the expiration of their contracts, Hearts of Oak announced.

The center-back in an interview with Happy Sports disclosed that there were no talks held between both parties to extend his contract.

He stated that Hearts of Oak were unwilling to extend his contract thus the decision to part ways with him.

“It wasn’t my fault not to extend the contract but from Hearts of Oak”, he told Joe Debrah on Happy Sports on Happy 98.9FM”

“I never negotiated any deal with the club lets make the fact clear. It was on Friday they called me to come to the office and started thanking me for my service. So I realized they didn’t want to work with me again”, he added.

Benjamin Agyare thanked the supporters of the club for the support he received during his stay with the club and has opened his door for a return in the future.
