Social Commentator and controversial musician Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus has expressed his disappointment in Nana Akufo-Addo’s fight against corruption in the country.

In an interview with Kwame Afrifa Mensah on the ‘Epa Hoa Daben’ show, he opined that Nana Akufo-Addo would have never asked the Auditor-General to proceed on leave if he was committed to the fight against corruption.

“Nana Addo has been dishonest when Nana Addo wanted power, he told us he will be protecting the public purse. When Nana Addo appointed the special prosecutor, it was as though we had won the world cup. Almost everybody was happy because they saw Nana Addo as someone who was willing to fight corruption. That is the picture that he painted for us.

The only person taking money for this country is Domelevo and yet they intimidated him”, he said.

According to him, the president extended the period of office for other public servants but only limited the period for the Auditor-General who was fighting corruption in the country.

On Monday, June 29, 2020, President Akufo-Addo ordered the Auditor General, Daniel Yaw Domelevo to take his accumulated leave of some one hundred and twenty-three days with effect from Wednesday, July 1, 2020.

Following the president’s directive, varied reactions have been pouring in on Twitter with several of the tweets criticizing the president’s decision.
