The Ablekuma North Municipal Chief Executive, Kalamu Adamu Musah, has announced plans to demolish a long-abandoned structure at the Mallam Market which has become a hotspot for filth and rodents over the past two decades.
Speaking during a sensitization programme with traders, Mr. Musah said the move is part of broader efforts to decongest the market and improve sanitation.
“The cleared space will be added to the main market, creating room for traders currently selling on pavements and outside the market to relocate inside.”
He urged traders to cooperate with the assembly to ensure a smooth relocation process.
