Cameroon will face Guinea at the Stade de Yamoussoukro on Monday in the opening round of the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations.

The Indomitable Lions are set to make their fourth consecutive AFCON appearance this month. They faced Zambia at the King Abdullah Sports City Stadium on Tuesday in a friendly clash between the two teams which ended 1-1, finding themselves a goal down 11 minutes after kickoff before Lorient’s Darlin Yongwa levelled the scores midway through the first half.

Cameroon have won their group opener in the last two editions of the continental showpiece and will be looking to continue that streak on Monday.

Guinea, meanwhile, are making their 14th appearance in the continental showpiece and will be looking to go all the way for the first time in their history. They beat Nigeria 2-0 in a friendly clash earlier in the week with Aguibou Camara opening the scoring in the first half before Facinet Conte doubled their advantage in the second.

The National Elephants beat Malawi 1-0 in their opening game in the 2022 AFCON and will be targeting a winning start here as well.
