The Attorney General, Gloria Akuffo has attributed the death of Ahmed Suale, an investigator with Tiger Eye PI as the cause of delay in a case involving the former president of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kwesi Nyantakyi.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, the Attorney General blamed the death of Ahmed Suale who is a key member in the number 12 exposé piece which unravels corruption in football in Ghana as the cause of delay in Nyantakyi’s prosecution.

“Unfortunately, Mohammed Suale, a member of Tiger Eye and a principal witness with whom the prosecutors directly engaged in the preparation of the case was tragically killed on 16th May 2019. The death of the journalist unavoidably stalled the preparation of the case,” she said.

Ahmed Hussein-Saule, an investigative journalist with the Tiger Eye PI, was shot on January 16 on his way home.

The Police administration earlier indicated that it has interrogated 13 suspects in connection with the murder of a journalist with an investigative firm, TigerEye PI, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

The Police administration earlier indicated that it has interrogated 13 suspects in connection with the murder of a journalist with an investigative firm, TigerEye PI, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.

In the investigative documentary, the then GFA boss was seen using the President Nana Addo, Vice President, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and other senior government officials, to illegally request for various sums of money from investigators disguised as investors.

However, the president in May 2018 asked the Police to investigate Kwesi Nyantakyi for a possible crime of fraud.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) as part of its investigations, seized mobile phones and laptops of the embattled football administrator as he was formally charged with defrauding by false pretence.

But more than a year down the line, not much has been seen about the case.
