Vice Presidential candidate of the Movement for Change and running mate to Alan Kyerematen, Kwame Owusu Danso, has officially begun his campaign tour of the Oti Region.

Mr. Owusu Danso, also known as KOD, is a familiar face in the region, starting his tour in Akaa Buem and Jasikan. As a key member of the Afrafranto Movement, he engaged with chiefs, youth, and women’s groups, outlining the policies of the party’s flagbearer as part of the Great Transformational Plan (GTP).

The youth in the Oti Region face high unemployment, often living under challenging conditions. KOD assured them that positive changes are on the horizon, with plans to improve living standards and create jobs for the younger generation.

Addressing the chiefs, traditional leaders, and the wider community, KOD emphasized the Movement for Change’s focus on youth development. “Our plan is clear – we will empower the youth through job creation and provide financial support to help young entrepreneurs start their businesses,” he stated. He also highlighted Alan Kyerematen’s 10-point plan for youth empowerment, which focuses on skills development, job creation, and youth leadership.

KOD also outlined plans to improve healthcare, including the proposed establishment of 100,000 health booths across communities. “This policy is revolutionary – it will create 100,000 jobs while decongesting our hospitals. People will be able to check their blood pressure, sugar, and cholesterol levels right in their neighborhoods,” he explained.

Aquaculture was also presented as a key aspect of GTP’s job creation strategy. KOD emphasized that the Oti Region could become a major beneficiary of aquaculture, with the potential to transform into the “Aquaculture Hub of Africa” under the leadership of the Movement for Change. “We have the resources and the people to lead in aquaculture, and Alan Kyerematen’s government will ensure the Oti Region becomes the heart of fish farming in West Africa,”

The Muslim community was also engaged during the tour, with KOD discussing plans for Ghanaian Muslim communities, including creating job opportunities for the youth and placing Arabic teachers on the Ghana Education Service (GES) payroll.

KOD, addressing the issue of corruption, which he claimed had crippled many sectors of the economy, promised that victory come December 7 elections will mark the end of corruption in Ghana. “Corruption has undermined our progress for too long, and Mr. Alan Kyerematen’s plan to consolidate anti-corruption institutions under a Czar will put an end to it.”
