A 21-year-old mobile money vendor has died after armed robbers shot him at Quarters Junction, a suburb of Ngleshie Amanfro in the Ga South Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.

The victim, Desmond Adzah, was returning home from his mobile money shop around 7 p.m. on Wednesday when two robbers on a motorbike ambushed and shot him multiple times.

Residents rushed him to the Ngleshie Amanfro Polyclinic, but he died while receiving treatment.

Eyewitness, Gladys Abganu, told reporters that they heard multiple gunshots near the victim’s family house. Moments later, they found Desmond lying in a pool of blood.

Meanwhile, a family member, Erica Agyam, has appealed to the police to expedite investigations into the incident, claiming the attackers might have been acquaintances of the victim.

The family is also urging security agencies to intensify patrols in the area to prevent future attacks.
