A final year student has died at the Methodist Girls Senior High School (MEGHIS) at Mamfe, Akuapem in the Eastern region.
The sad event, according a statement by the Ghana Education Service, occurred on Friday 17th July 2020. Management of the school quickly rushed Cindy AKU SIKA ADDO of General Arts 4A to Tetteh Quarshie Hospital at Mampong on Thursday 16th July 2020 when her friends detected that she was not well.
Her parents were immediately informed and they went to the hospital to see her.
She was later referred to the Koforidua Regional Hospital where she was diagnosed of Acute Malaria. Unfortunately she passed on the next day on Friday 17th July 2020.
GES added that the management “extends its deepest condolences to the bereaved family and stands with them at this difficult time.”
