Minister for Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations, and Member of Parliament for Ningo-Prampram, Sam George, has noted that all holiday bundle packages seen today are fully sponsored by the respective network service providers and not the government of Ghana.

The Minister earlier today made clarifications on holidays which are eligible for special holiday bundle packages. The holidays that fall within the criteria of national holidays include – Independence, Workers, Republic, Founder’s and Farmers Days.

Some network service providers are offering a special holiday data package which got netizens applauding the government and the minister for Communication.

However, George in a tagged post explained that any special bundle packages offered by network service providers are not under his orchestration. “This is from the Telco. I do not take credit for what I didn’t arrange.” he stated.

He noted that the only arrangements he had made were for the national holidays but that does not stop network service providers from giving such bundles on other holidays. “They can choose to do promos every other day, that’s their choice. Thanks.”
