SUHUM MP CHARGES Muslim YOUTH TO ABSTAIN FROM HARD DRUGS.

The Member of Parliament for the Suhum constituency in the Eastern Region, Frank Asiedu Bekoe has charged Muslim youth to shun substance and drug abuse to enable them to achieve their goals in life.

Protozoa, as he popularly called, bemoaned the menace among the youth and indicated if precautionary measures are not taken, the future would be bleak.

Frank Aseidu Bekoe underscored the importance of everyone coming on board and helping to curb the menace to secure the future of Ghana’s youth.

He reiterated his commitment to leading a crusade against opioids and substance abuse among the youth.

Mr. Bekoe was speaking at a gathering to mark Eid-Al-Adha prayers observed by the Muslim community.

Protozoa assured his constituents that he would continue preaching against hard drugs until the numbers hit zero.

The Municipal Chief Executive for Suhum Municipality, Lydia Ohenewaa mentioned that youth development is dear to the heart of the National Democratic Congress government, hence President John Dramani Mahama is implementing numerous programs and policies to benefit and shape their future.

She noted that, Muslims play a key role in nation-building and appealed to the community in Suhum to rally their support behind the Assembly to succeed.

Meanwhile, the Parish Priest for All Saint Anglican Church in Suhum, Rev. Cannon Lawrence Charles Amankwah Kwabena suprisely joined the Muslims prayers and entreated them to understand that they are one people with common desstiny.

“The cordial relationship between Christian and Muslims has made Ghana to be known as one of the peaceful countries in the world and they will continue to strengthen this bond to uphold the peace of the country”.
