Armed robbers gun down two illegal miners at Subri Nkwanta

A tragic incident has occurred at Subri Nkwanta under Kojina electoral area of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai municipality where armed robbers shot a and killed a Chinese(boss) and a Ghanaian(driver) who were alleged to be mining in the area illegally. The bodyguard of Chinese boss who was the two deceased miners was severely injured.

The Assembly Member for Kojina electoral area, Hon. Frank Addae speaking with the media, explained that the robbers attacked and shot the miners through their vehicle’s windscreen on their way to Subri Nkwanta from their mining site.

The unidentified robbers bolted with the gold extract the miners had in their custody.

According to the assembly member, the incident was reported to the police. Bodies of the two dead miners were retrieved and deposited at a nearby mortuary for preservation. The MCE was informed about the incident. He assured his electorates to live without fear and panic. He revealed security has been beefed up in the area.
