Minister of Communications and Digitalization, Samuel Nartey George has said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer a futuristic concept but a present reality.

Sam George as he is affectionately called argued that Artificial Intelligence which is now a present reality reshaping industries, economies and societies globally.

The Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram made this comment at the 2025 Ghana Ai Summit and Awards in a speech read on his behalf by Dr Collins Yeboad-Afari, the Director General at the Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT.

“Ai is not longer a futuristic concept but a present reality reshaping industries, economies and societies globally.”

He added that Ai offers Ghana a unique opportunity to address the numerous challenges in the various sectors of the economy.

“For Ghana Ai offers unprecedented opportunities to address challenges and accelerate progress across various sectors including healthcare, agriculture, finance, education and governance,” the statement read by Dr Collins Yeboad-Afari on behalf of Sam George read.

Sam George ended by saying that the Ministry of Communication will ensure that Ai is not only reserved for people in Accra.

“Ai is not only reserved for people in Accra or only the regional capitals so we will make sure that it spreads across for all to benefit from it.”
