Accompanied by football luminaries and sports officials, Black Stars legend, Asamoah Gyan, alongside the Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku, orchestrated a grand press launch at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel.

The event unveiled the blueprint for the inaugural edition of the All Regional Games, slated for November 2024, amidst a gathering of revered athletes and heads of federations.

Notable former players and figures such as John Painstil, Fatawu Dauda, Agyeman Badu, Stephen Appiah, and Emmanuel Tuffour attended the event, underlining its significance.

The unveiling ceremony marked the formal introduction of the All Regional Games to the public and media, elucidating details about its structure, encompassing nine sporting disciplines, including football, athletics, volleyball, basketball, tennis, table tennis, boxing, e-sports, arm-wrestling, and para-sports.

The initiative, aimed at unearthing talents across Ghana, mandates each region to conduct trials and select its premier athletes for interregional competition.

Commencing on May 16th, the regional tour will culminate in a community engagement and cleanup exercise in Kumasi on June 8th, coinciding with the official launch of the games. Regional activities are scheduled from June 9th to 30th, with participants aged between 18 and 23 vying for sporting glory.

Ambassador for the event, Asamoah Gyan impassioned the audience, envisioning the All Regional Games as a cornerstone of Ghana’s sporting legacy.

“Let’s make it an institute, let’s make it something that our next generation will benefit from,” he urged, emphasizing the initiative’s broader goal of nurturing diverse sporting talents beyond football.

Tiana Addai, CEO of the initiative, spoke about the original intention to focus on supporting female athletes, a vision that evolved to encompass male athletes as well.

She underscored the non-political nature of the endeavor, rallying all Ghanaians to rally behind this collective effort towards sporting excellence.
