Sarfo Gyamfi, a legend at Asante Kotoko, has cited selfishness as the reason for the club’s current situation.

According to him, if leaders and authorities worked in the interest of the club, they wouldn’t be struggling.

The life patron of Asante Kotoko Otumfuo Osei Tutu II as part of seeking a new direction for the club, held a meeting last friday with stakeholders of the club including the players and the National Circles Council, the club’s supporters group.

The meeting saw Otumfuo appoint an Interim Management Committee to oversee the affairs of Asante Kotoko while the club’s administration is restructured.

They are Kontomponiaferehene and chartered accountant Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, former Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah, the club’s former coach Dr. Prosper Narteh Ogum and Emmanuel Dasoberi.

He further pledged to rebuild the Adako Jachie Complex, which serves as the club’s training facility.

Sarfo Gyamfi in an interview on Happy FM’s HappySports disclosed that, the King expressed displeasure at the division between supporters, the playing body and leadership at the club.

Gyamfi called for unity between all stakeholders because that would be the only way the club would return to its glory days.

Otumfuo, who had promised to visit the Adako Jachie Complex on Friday when they met him alongside former players to assess the current situation of the club, True to his word, toured the facility and was made aware of the challenges faced by the club.
