Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Asantehene, showed his dedication to education with a donation of GH₵500,000 to the Ga Education Fund.

This declaration was made during a grand durbar held in his honor by the Ga State, under the leadership of the Ga Mantse, Nii Teiko Tsuru II.

“I want to donate an amount of GH₵500,000 to the Ga Education Fund to help in the education of less-privileged Ga children,” the Asantehene’s interpreter said.

The Asantehene thanked the Ga State for their warm hospitality and stressed the significance of unity among Ghanaians. He urged for solidarity between the Ga and Ashanti people and encouraged cooperation among all chiefs.

“The people of Ga and Ashanti must unite to develop our peoples. All Ga chiefs must unite behind Nii Teiko Tsuru II. Unity and development must be our focus in the interest of our children,” he emphasized.

Otumfuo Osei Tutu II contended that contemporary chieftaincy should focus on development rather than territorial conflicts. “The current fight should be for development to benefit future generations,” he said.

Recognizing the support he received from Nii Teiko Tsuru II during his 25th-anniversary celebration, the Asantehene remarked, “I appreciate your presence during my 25th anniversary celebration. You showed love. This is a reciprocal gesture”.

The Asantehene called on all Ga chiefs to support Nii Teiko Tsuru II’s development efforts for the region and promised his ongoing support for the Ga Mantse.
