The Ashanti Regional NPP Council of Elders held a meeting on Monday, August 5, 2024, where they brokered a reconciliation with Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, a party member and former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways who had run as an independent candidate in the Ejisu By-Election. Engineer Owusu Aduomi responded positively to the overtures made by the Council of Elders and accepted their invitation to return to the party fold.

In a meeting marked by frank and open discussions of past issues, Owusu Aduomi announced his unconditional return to the party, stating that his roots are firmly planted in the NPP and that the party runs through his veins.

He also pledged to reach out to his supporters and bring them back to the party. The Chairperson of the Council of Elders, Mrs. Rosemond Appiah Menka, thanked Owusu Aduomi for honoring their invitation and returning to the party, noting that his comeback will significantly boost the NPP’s fortunes in the December 7th elections.

The Vice-Chairman of the Council of Elders, Dr. Moussa Jebir Kebir, appealed to NPP members to warmly welcome Owusu Aduomi back into the party.
