AshantiGold SC interim coach, Thomas Duah says Hearts of Oak management have done a great disservice to the team for failing to tie down former midfielder Benjamin Afutu Kotey to a new contract.
According to him, The Phobians have lost one of their key players in Benjamin Afutu who played a vital role in their treble-winning season.
Thomas Duah managed to secure a 2-0 win over the defending league champions at the Len Clay Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Hearts of Oak are currently without a win after matchday four in the ongoing Ghana Premier League.
Analyzing Hearts of Oak’s first of the season defeat to AshantiGold on Happy Sports with Odiasempa Kwame Oware on Happy 98.9FM Thomas Duah quizzed why the team released Benjamin Afutu, “Hearts of Oak lack understanding at the back and I was happy the left-back Raddu Ovoka didn’t play the game.
“Benjamin Afutu was very key to Hearts of Oak and if it was the management that let him go then they have done a great disservice to the team”
Duah says he wants to be handed the job permanently after securing this big win against Hearts of Oak.
“I want to work with the team. I have played for the team and I really want to help the team win”, he added.
